Kiwanis Family
KICK IT Program
KICK IT(Kiwanis Integrates CKI Incentives & Teamwork) is a mentoring program between Kiwanis and CKI’ers to promote positive K-Family relations. This program is meant to make the CKI member aware of how the Kiwanis Club operates and get to know a Kiwanian on a one-to-one basis. It is also meant to make the Kiwanian aware of how the CKI Club operates and how important it is for our K-Family to work as a team.
Our community sees Kiwanis both as a provider of charitable funds that support its financial needs through the Kiwanis Club, and of one-on-one community service to those more challenged than are we through our CKI Club. Our Kiwanis Family provides both of these needs and we all need a better understanding of how each club works toward these goals.
CKI team member:
- Include your Kiwanis partner in helping with a service project or fundraiser.
- Invite your partner to general meeting and a board meeting.
- Include your Kiwanis partner to a social activity that your club is holding. See if other KICK IT teams can attend as well.
- Get to know your Kiwanis partner and how they participate in service and fundraising for our community.
- Give them sufficient lead time so they can schedule accordingly.
- Invite your CKI partner to a service project and/or a fundraiser, so the CKI member can see why Kiwanis is the best club to join as an adult (why not try all three?).
- Invite your partner to one of the Kiwanis luncheon meetings as your guest, and to a monthly board meeting.
- Invite your CKI partner to dinner, to a social activity or a cultural event during the year. Just have fun.
- Get to know your CKI partner: how they participate in service to the community, their life as a student and their interests after college.
- Provide any insight you may have on their venture into the job market, if they are interested, or if your career matches either their curriculum or interests.
- Remember to always consider their academic schedule and availability.
